FOR THE LOVE OF LAGER: ALASKAN-STYLE SPRUCE LAGER

PALE LAGER WITH SPRUCE

This lager was inspired by the beer our Head Brewer enjoyed while on his honeymoon in Alaska. Each brewery visited had some form of pale spruce beer on tap. Our version starts with Canadian barley malt – an ingredient commonly used in Alaska due to its relative ease of access. After a slow, cold fermentation, we infused this lager with almost 40 gallons of tea made from spruce tips. The result is a light-bodied beer that drinks subtly sweet with fresh pine flavor.
